Performance Results using Herbalife Nutrition: As a member of the Western Province and Stormers Rugby Team, I train together with the team twice a day. The training consists of a fatigue test and gym session in the morning and a late afternoon session on the rugby field. Towards the end of the week, my energy levels were usually very low which was a problem for me. In addition to this, our provincial rugby fixtures are usually scheduled a week apart which means that I need something to help my body recover more rapidly in order to ensure that I can perform at my best. I started using Herbalife as a Nutritional Supplement three times a day, in the morning before practice, at noon and again before the second practice in the evening. I experienced an almost immediate energy increase and after three weeks on the products, I moved up 16 places to number 2 in the Squad’s test group! My weight used to fluctuate substantially due to my poor eating habits but I now maintain my goal weight at 115kg and still enjoy eating the food that I like together with using the Herbalife Nutritional Programme.
The above results were achieved over a six week period and were recorded at the Sports Science Institute Gym in Newlands as part of the Western Province Rugby squad’s weekly fitness / fatigue assesment. The recordings are taken following 2 minute periods of continuous strenuous exercise (Ex.1 to Ex.4) followed by 1 minute periods of recovery (Rec.1 to Rec.4). The intensity of exercise in each period is increased progressively. The red (dotted) indicates levels of fitness and recovery in terms of heart rate (beats per minute) prior to using Herbalife and the green (solid) after 6 weeks of using Herbalife. This relates to ranking improvement within the Western Province squad from 18th to the 2nd over the 6 week period with regard to rate of recovery following the abovementioned weekly fatigue tests.
